Song Yoo-geun (born November 27, 1997) is a South Korean graduate school student, currently enrolled in the Korean University of Science and Technology (UST). In October 2015, his first paper, written with his advisor, Dr. Park Seok-jae, entitled "Axisymmetric, Nonstationary Black Hole Magnetospheres: Revisited" appeared in the Astrophysical Journal (ApJ). As UST requires one published paper in a journal listed in the Science Citation Index as a graduation requirement, this article, along with his Ph.D. defense titled "Astrophysical Applications of General Relativity" qualified him to apply for a Ph.D. degree to be conferred in February 2016. This would have made him the youngest-ever Korean to earn a Ph.D. degree. However, the paper was soon retracted due to plagiarizing a 2002 book chapter.
